It is the first 7-series where all engines are turbocharged except the 730i and 730Li variants. The ActiveHybrid7 was the first 7-series to use an electric motor.
The BMW 7 series competes with fellow Germans, the Audi A8 and Mercedes S Class along with Jaguar XJ.
